Hierarchically layered, this painting depicts the process of gerrymandering and metaphorical effects. The constituents are split into different “corrals”, ie their political representatives, while their representatives carve up neighborhoods and counties in order to guarantee reelection. Henry Ford’s profile is included because of his funding and influence to gerrymandering politicians during the twentieth century. The voters have little to no say in this redistricting, but learn more about the unjust process with every census.
